iQ Student Accommodation is a leading operator and developer of city centre properties across the UK, specifically designed for young people.

We are in the process of preparing a planning application for Echo Street, a development providing co-living accommodation alongside purpose built student accommodation.

We manage 55 properties in 25 locations across the UK and have a strong track record in developing high quality homes tailored for young people.

In every one of our development projects, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that respect the local community and environment. As a principle, we only develop projects that we will operate ourselves.

Our aim for Echo Street is to help attract and retain young people and urban professionals in Manchester city centre whilst providing them with a home from which they can grow.

This website provides more information about the plans.

Retaining young professionals

Manchester has a young population, with 13.2% aged between 20-24 (compared with 8.1% across the rest of the England) but many struggle to find affordable, flexible city centre accommodation.

There is a growing rental market in the city, but rising rents are pricing some urban professionals out of the city centre. Echo Street will provide a new alternative to city living for recent graduates and urban professionals.
